Sheryl Starns

Health Actuarial Analyst


Ms. Starns joined our firm in 2003.  She is a Senior Actuarial Analyst with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.  She has completed several actuarial exams, a CEBS exam, and is a PAHM (Professional, Academy for Healthcare Management).  Her area of expertise is in healthcare, with special attention being paid to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. 


Immediately prior to joining our firm, Sheryl spent ten years in the Actuarial Department at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Her experience there was in small group rate law compliance, rating illustration programs and as underwriting liaison.  Before moving to Arkansas, she worked for two similar insurance companies in Delaware. 


She is a past president of the Little Rock Actuarial Club, a member of the Arkansas Kennel Club and the English Setter Association of America.  She raises and trains English setters in her spare time.
